How do I create a new domain? (Accounts created after Dec 06)
- In your VDS control panel, click on the Domains link under Domain Settings
- Click the Add domain button at the bottom
- Type the domain name
- Check/uncheck whether this domain will use your account's mail server
- If the domain name is just an alias pointing at the main domain, choose "Default". If it is a new domain for a seperate website, choose "Custom" and type the path for the html files. (You may have to delete the default text before typing your path) . e.g. "/var/www/html/YOUR_DIRECTORY_HERE".
NOTE:you must create the directory via ftp or SSH before you can create the domain that will point to it for html content AND you can put the directory anywhere - not just under /var/www/html.
- Click Finish
It will take up to 3 hours for the Name Server to update and add this domain name to be active. You can access your web-content using your primary domain name until the Name Server is updated. E.g. http://primarydomain.com/newdomaindirectory/ Once the Name Server is updated, you can then use the newdomain name E.g. http://newdomainname.com
