How do I create a sub-domain? (Accounts created after Dec 06)
|
1. In your VDS control panel, click on "Domains" under Domain Settings in the left menu. 2. Click on the domain name you want to add a sub-domain to. 3. Click on the Add button under the listing of current sub-domains. 4. In the popup, enter the name of the sub-domain (i.e. support, help, www2) and the path on the server. The path on the server should be "/var/www/html/YOUR_DIRECTORY_HERE".> NOTE: you must create the directory via ftp or SSH before you can create the sub-domain that will point to it for html content AND you can put the directory anywhere - not just under /var/www/html. It can take up to 3 hours before the sub-domain will be active on the Name Server. Until then you can access it using http://primarydomain.com/subdomaindirectory. Once the Name Server is updated you can use http://sub-domain.primarydomain.com.
