Will I have root access with the Virtual Dedicated Server?
In the virtual dedicated server (VDS), you are granted superuser access to your VDS only. This level of access is between true root access and just a normal user. This is sometimes referred to as a "chroot" environment.

As the VDS owner, you have the ability to login via SSH and make configuration changes to your Apache web server and mail server as well as other configuration (.conf, .ini) files. This affords the VDS owner with the highest level of access possible in a shared hardware environment without actually granting system 'root' privileges. If a user was actually able to log into the server as 'root' there would be no security between VDSs.
